Endrime, a denim design consultancy based in the United Kingdom, recently released its inaugural book showcasing the designs and vast denim archive curated by its founder, Mohsin Sajid.
Mohsin Sajid, an esteemed British Fashion Designer who graduated from Westminster University in 2002, boasts extensive expertise as a denim specialist, lecturer, proficient pattern cutter, and skilled ergonomic tailor. Over the past two decades, he has made significant contributions to numerous top-tier denim and apparel companies worldwide.
The first volume of the Endrime Archive showcases a comprehensive collection of 92 jeans, 70 denim jackets, 18 overalls, and additional pieces meticulously gathered by Sajid throughout his illustrious 22-year career as a designer, consultant, and educator.
Delving into the historical underpinnings of early French workwear and the roots of denim tailoring in Europe, this 510-page tome provides valuable insights, contextualizing Sajid’s historically inspired designs and various projects undertaken for companies across the denim supply chain, drawing from his experience as a former designer at Levi’s.
The inspiration for the book stemmed from Sajid’s tenure as a denim lecturer at esteemed institutions such as Central St Martins, London College of Fashion, Kingston University, and Ravensbourne University. While existing literature delves into specific denim brands and historical eras, Sajid identified a gap for a comprehensive volume that provides a broader narrative of denim’s evolution and elucidates the historical significance of iconic garments like the Trucker jacket and the five-pocket jean.
Sajid, with a vast archive exceeding 3,000 pieces, revealed plans for additional volumes in the future. Endrime is also actively developing books centered on various aspects of denim, including branding, pattern-making, and construction techniques.
Pre-orders for Endrime Archive Vol 1 are currently open on the official website, Endrime.com, priced at 185 pounds (approximately $230).
