Denmark has announced plans to ban the sale of clothes, shoes, and waterproofing products that contain PFAS (Per and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances).
The country’s Ministry of the Environment said the proposed ban would take effect from 1st July 2026 to give businesses a “transition period” before having to comply.
The per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are a group of chemicals used to make fluoropolymer coatings and products that resist heat, oil, stains, grease, and water. Fluoropolymer coatings can be in a variety of products.
