Dr. Yasir Nawab is a distinguished, tenured professor and a globally recognized researcher specializing in textiles and composite materials. He holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, with a focus on fiber-reinforced composite materials. With 19 years of extensive research and industry experience, Dr. Nawab has collaborated with prominent national and international organizations, contributing to the entire value chain of textiles and composites. He has spearheaded the development of several cutting-edge technologies and industrial solutions that have been successfully licensed and commercialized.
The Punjab government has recently appointed new Vice Chancellors to six universities across the province. Among the appointees, Professor Dr. Yasir Nawab has been named the Vice Chancellor of the University of Kamalia. On November 18, 2024, Professor Dr. Yasir Nawab officially took charge of his new role at the University of Kamalia.
Dr. Nawab has authored over 150 peer-reviewed journal articles, written 9 books, holds 3 patents, and presented 54 conference communications, including several keynote lectures. His mentorship has shaped the careers of 11 Ph.D. and 55 MS engineering graduates. Recognized for his excellence in teaching and leadership, Dr. Nawab has received numerous accolades, including the HEC Best University Teacher Award in 2017, the Dice Leadership Award in 2018, and the National Engineering Excellence Award from the Institution of Engineers Pakistan (IEP) in 2024.
