The APTMA (All Pakistan Textile Mills Association) recently welcomed a distinguished delegation from Uzbekistan’s textile industry, which consisted of company owners, association leaders, unit heads, and textile engineers. The event, spanning from May 15th to 18th, 2024, offered extensive training sessions covering crucial aspects such as textile products, processes, marketing strategies, and compliance obligations related to the Generalized System of Preferences Plus (GSP+).
In collaboration with the National Textile University (NTU) in Faisalabad, a week-long training program was meticulously designed to augment the competitiveness of the Uzbek delegates within the dynamic textile sector. This training regimen emphasized technological advancements, trade regulations, GSP+ compliance requisites, marketing strategies, as well as the latest innovations in textile processes and products.
Participants were privileged to embark on insightful visits to several esteemed industrial establishments in Faisalabad, including Crescent Textiles, Crescent Bahuman Ltd, Interloop, and Masood Textiles.
During deliberations, the attendees engaged in extensive discussions regarding the European Union’s GSP+ compliance obligations, reporting requirements, its implications for Pakistan, illustrative case studies from the textile industry, and pivotal areas essential for sustaining GSP+ privileges.
It is anticipated that this program will serve as a catalyst for fostering robust trade connections between Pakistan and Uzbekistan.
